Petition for a Better Dundas Street West (January 2021)
    To:  Mayor Tory, Cllr. Mark Grimes, Cllr. Stephen Holyday, All other Members of Council, and Barbara Grey (General Manager, Transportation Services) 

    ​We are people who live or work in the vicinity of Dundas Street West, between the Humber River and Islington Avenue.  
    As you probably know, this stretch of road is currently unpleasant and dangerous for pedestrians, cyclists, and anyone trying to cross the street or catch a bus.  

    We want the City  to make it into a “Complete Street,” which is safe, pleasant and efficient for all its users.  We would like to see:

    • Lower vehicle speeds
    • More safe crossing areas
    • More safe space for pedestrians and cyclists
    • Other improvements, identified through an open consultation process with the community
     
    Doing so would prevent injuries and deaths, advancing the City's Vision Zero goals. It would also help local businesses thrive, and  make life more pleasant for the people who live and work here.
